project [prɒdʒɛkt] | origin: latin

• (n.) an individual or collaborative enterprise that is carefully planned to achieve a particular aim.

These personal pages of mine began in a beach-side suburb in the city of Sydney. I remember the cooling, winter sunsets along the horizon as I gazed over my apartment window. On my study laid a single lucky bamboo from a previous Christmas party and stacks of dusty books that were left unattended. In the distance, I could continuously hear the whirrs of airplane turbines as the airport was only a stone’s throw away.

On the streets below, I remember seeing all walks of life crossing the busy intersection as they go about their evening. Most of them heading to buy groceries in the supermarket just beneath my feet, while some coming back home from their busy working day in the office. The string of buses departing a nearby bus stop would always leave with hums echoing into the evening.

In front of me, I remember, laid a blank slate of a website. To think that if I had started writing back then, I’d have countless stories to share today. But, better late than never, as most people would say.

the written project began as an outlet for me to write whatever came to mind. I had planned for it to be a channel to write out my thoughts about the world. Despite these grand plans to be the writer that I’ve always aspired to be, instead these personal pages were left abandoned for almost half a decade.

This first post is an attempt to begin my writing journey all over again. The amount of times I’ve written and deleted the white page embedded on my screen is countless, and I want to make it count this time. I want to begin practicing again before I completely lose my ability to write and my ability to voice out (hopefully) interesting thoughts for everyone to read.

This is my passion project of sorts in an attempt to rekindle my dwindling relationship with writing. I am by no means good at it, but I do want to get better. With every piece published, I want to lay a part of myself within every nook and cranny. With every character, word, and paragraph, I want to reignite the spark I had when I first began writing.

I couldn’t call myself a writer but I can write. And damn, I better write some good stuff now that this blog is up and running.

Note: according to Wix I've had this drafted since 5 Feb 2021 and owned this domain since mid of 2020 :')
